The 6082 aluminum extrusion is widely used in sorts of aluminum products. 1. The heating method of aluminum cast rod

The heating method of Aluminum cast rod takes the frequency induction, and its characteristics are:

A. Short heating time – it can reach to about 500 ℃ in 3 minutes;

B. Accuracy Extrusion temperature control -- the error is within ± 3 ℃.  

If the cast rod is slowly heated by the resistance furnace, which will lead to Mg2Si phases precipitation, affecting the strengthening effect.

2. The extrusion of aluminum profile

To change the following the factors, and make a rational process for 6082 aluminum extrusion.

A. The 6082 aluminum profile has high deformation resistance, so the cast rod temperature should tend to the upper limit (480-500 ℃);

B. Aluminum extrusion mold temperature should be high relatively;

C. To prevent shrinkage, bubbles, oxide or impurities involved, the pressure should be left longer;

D. To make the main strengthening phase of Mg2Si completely solid solution, it need to be ensured that the quenching temperature is above 500 ℃, and only the outlet temperature is controlled at 500-530 ℃ can this aluminum extrusion be solid;

E. The 6082 aluminum profile is highly sensitive with quenching. The alloy contains Mn, which promotes the formation of intermetallic compounds and adversely affects the quenching performance. So, it requires that the quenching cooling should be strong and fast, quenching by water quickly dropped to below 50 ℃;
